Inside Arirang Hotel's Filthy Kitchen
Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) have shut down the kitchen facility of Arirang Hotel and Restaurant on Kyadondo road, Nakasero, Kampala over horrifying sanitary conditions, Chimp Corps report.
The latest development is a big blow to the posh facility frequented by diplomats, foreign expatriates and Kampala's middle class.
KCCA announced that the facility in the leafy suburbs of Kampala was closed Thursday "due to poor hygiene and sanitation and unsafe way of food handling."
The Authority further disclosed that, "We will continue closing down all businesses that do not meet the required public health standards."
Tea cups, saucers, dirty buckets, empty beer bottles and leftovers are dumped on the kitchen floor.
In the fridge are piles of stinking and rotten beef and chicken which are usually served to guests.
The water pipes are broken and the rust covering sinks is evidence that the entire facility is poorly maintained.
Officials at the Hotel refused to speak to the press about the shocking health conditions.
