{UAH} POOR YOUTH HYENAS BESIEGE EVER-SOPHISTICATED MBABAZI
A group of youth activists under their umbrella group, NRM Poor Youth
on Thursday (today) stormed the home of the ex-premier Amama Mbabazi,
urging him to declare his intentions ahead of the upcoming elections
in 2016.
The group led by their National coordinator Mr Isa Kato showed up at
Kinkizi West MP's home in Kololo with posters and a certificate
endorsing him for the 2016 presidential elections. The youth who
claimed they have been persecuted, intimidated and some arrested
because of being pro-Mbabazi called upon the ex-premier to save them
by declaring his presidential ambitions before it is too late.
"We started mobilization already; we see you in the picture of Jesus
Christ, come and liberate us," Mr Ben Ssebuguzi urged Mr Mbabazi.
However, Mr Mbabazi remained tightlipped and kept taking them off the
subject of endorsement stating that he is an NRM member and will stick
to the rules that govern the party and the politics of choosing
leaders.
"I welcome you as members of the NRM, I strongly subscribe to the NRM,
thank you for having the confidence in me, but we have rules that
govern the party and how politics is conducted, I urge you to stick to
those rules" Mr Mbabazi said.
"Do not rush things, this is not the time, the time will come.
Remember speed kills, slow down," Mr Mbabazi also hinted that at a
certain time he will come out and declare his intentions.
"I have not been commenting about these things, I have chosen to keep
quiet because when I speak, I want it to be purposeful. It's better to
speak when you are ready," Mr Mbabazi added before accepting the
certificate of endorsement.
