Subject:SOWETO UGANDA

Yesterday the 20th January 2015 I was honoured to be granted an impromptu interview with a nice young man who has experienced life on the inside of the Soweto slum on the outskirts of Kampala the Ugandan capital.
When he finished relating to me how difficult life is in Soweto, I asked him his opinion on the threat of Ebola should it (God forbid) affect any of its residents. His face registered shock and disbelief and he straightaway gave this answer :
"IF EBOLA STRUCK SOWETO, THE WHOLE OF UGANDA WOULD BE FINISHED "! Then I went into shock at his words. He demonstrated to me how in some of Soweto's streets people have to walk sideways - the streets are that narrow! Very young children play in the dirty drains and almost everyone gets water from only one pump as they cannot afford the equivalent of only 5 pence (British money) per gallon of tap water from those who have it. The conditions in Soweto are unbelievably difficult.
For weeks I have been promising to identify money attached to charity and compassion to help us help those in greatest need using our 8-point programme of Eradicating Ebola by Prevention. I am very happy to have a name of a dollar - millionaire family which lives nearest to Soweto. That is the family of Sir Gordon Wavamunno. Sir Gordon already has many charitable credits to his name which include support for schools, hospitals, the St John's ambulance brigade etc, etc So, we trust that he is a man who has a good heart and would do whatever he can to help the people of Soweto who are his neighbours as he lives next door at Munyonyo. They need safe water and more and safer toilets plus a proper drainage and sanitation system. If electric lighting is added the narrow streets will be made safer as well.
I am sending Mr Wavamunno this proposal directly.
Thank you!
God bless.
Mega.
