{UAH} Widow murder: Relatives accuse boyfriend of trying to grab property

David Mbabaali, a prime suspect in the murder of 72-year-old widow Harriet Namyenya Mbaziira, wanted to take over her property, relatives claim.
Mbaziira, who had gone missing from her home in Wakaliga zone B in Nalukolongo, a Kampala suburb, for about a month, was discovered dead in her double-storied house this week. Her lover Mbabaali is on the run.

Mbaziira's relatives told New Vision yesterday that Mbabaali last Saturday went to the deceased's farm in Mityana and ordered the care taker to vacate the land, claiming he was going to set up a brick laying factory.
The property sits on 70 acres of land. "Mbabaali came to see me at the farm with two identity cards, his and that of Mbaziira. There was writing on Mbaziira's Identity card stating:
'The bearer should take control of everything' and had her signature that appeared forged," said Joseph Kisitu, a care taker at the farm.
Kisitu said Mbabaali ordered everybody to leave, saying he wanted to build a factory there very soon.
Mbaziira's relatives said Mbabaali also attempted to secure her ATM card and code number and took away the chairs, a carpet and two beds from the home.
"Recently, he asked tenants to give him, not Mbaziira, the rent. He changed the receipt books from Mbaziira estate to Mbabaali estate," said Margaret Katamba, Mbaziira's niece.
Another relative, Maria Kintu, told New Vision that she had stopped visiting the home because Mbabaali was hostile to her whenever she came around.
