UNAA delegation to attend Basoga Twegaite Minneapolis, Minnesota

New Orleans, Louisiana, April 14th 2015 - Under the auspices of the UNAA Community Outreach Initiative (COI), UNAA Vice President, Mr. Monday S. Atigo, MBA and UNAA Council Deputy Speaker, Sgt. Stephen K. Katende will lead the UNAA delegation to the Basoga Twegaite Convention in Minneapolis, Minnesota, May 21st - May 25th 2015 at the Crown Plaza Hotel & Suites MSP Airport.
 
The conference theme "Creating Connections & Building Bridges - Together for Busoga region in Uganda" acknowledges Twegaite Minnesota's collective need to bring together individuals and organizations from diverse sectors to generate action on issues affecting Busoga region in Uganda. Twegaite Minnesota 2015 program will cover a diverse range of issues and also make space for new and on-going conversations.
 
Over the course of the four day convention, Twegaite will seek to break down barriers, create new alliances and support each other in working together for a better future in Busoga.
 
Twegaite registrants and enthusiasts will find plenty to do - social networking opportunities with key stakeholders in various sectors of Uganda & Minnesota at forums, meetings and also the mighty Mississippi River offers an opportunity for the source of the Nile Boat cruise sponsored by Twegaite Minnesota. There will simply be no day without a fun event or festival going on somewhere at this action packed convention kicking off on Thursday, May 21st and closing on Monday, May 25th 2015.

About the Community Outreach Initiative (COI)
Launched in 2013, the Community Outreach Initiative (COI) was a program launched by the incoming UNAA leadership to transform UNAA into a grassroots organization and move beyond being a mere one weekend a year convention organization. Since its launch, the current UNAA Administration has visited more Ugandan Cultural Organizations and Community Association events than any other administration in UNAA History creating relationships and improving the UNAA Brand.
 
About UNAA New Orleans 2015
The 27th Annual UNAA Convention and Trade Expo will take place over three days; September 4 - 6 2015 at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans showcasing program and forums including Trade & Investment, Technology, Health, Education, Political as well as a forum on Intergenerational relationships between immigrants and their children born in the Diaspora.
 
The Saturday Dinner Cruise is a popular culinary event complete with a dance to both live performances by popular artists and DJ music - aboard a magnificent marine vessel sailing into the spectacular Mississippi River sunset. Proceeds from the Fashion Show Auction during the Sunday Gala Dinner will go towards the Emerging Leaders Scholarship Program.

Over 50 exhibiting companies and vendors featuring the latest world class Ugandan culture, produce, music, books, literature, arts crafts, Jewelry, clothing, foods, etc. will gather under the theme "Better Together: Investing in our future through education".
