{UAH} Sudan Elections

Comrades Robukui and Akim Odong,

Sudan held elections today but I am told the turn-out amongst the
Nubians of the Nuba Mountains and Nile Basin was very poor. But a
Nubian woman was one of the 7 presidential candidates challenging the
dictator Omar el Bashir. I think the only good thing to come out of
these elections is that the Nubians are now beginning to stand up and
assert their political rights- many are abandoning the slave idea of
calling themselves Arabs rather than Nubian. They realise how
dangerous denying their identity has been for them.
