{UAH} True democracy!
Last week the whites demonstrated as they were cleaning up the statue of Paul Kruger, the first President of the Boers in Church Square, Pretoria. This was after several statues had been damaged by the youth winger who claims that they don't want anything that reminds them of the apartheid regime and up to now it has turned into a very contentious issue and it has created a lot of tension between the whites and black people. Heavy security right now has been deployed in various areas to safe guard the historical monuments. Yesterday the opposition went to the same sight chanting and dancing, singing the liberation songs that the statue should go. In the meantime the matter is being discussed by the South African government. The police was just looking on and the statue had been fenced by barbed wire.
But if it was other governments a lot of tear gas would have been used that would have impacted on the economy of the country and may be even loss of life. The building behind in is the court where Mandela was tried.
