Uganda Acquires Surface -to- Air Missile Weapons

Uganda has acquired modified Air defense systems to safe guard its air space.
Recently, School of Field Artillery and Air Defence (SOFAAD) passed out 321 newly trained airforce personnel at Olilim in Katakwi district. The six months training took the team into the use of several surface to air missile weapons.
The surface- to- air missile weapona are capable of shooting down planes and reinforcing the infantry. Their capacity is for shooting missiles up to a range of 70 kilometres (over 40 miles) while handling multiple threats for fighter air crafts and guided missiles.
However, the cost of the procedure remains unknown with weapons believed to have been supplied by China/North Korea States.
Now Uganda seeks two years of full time military training upon completion of S.6 as security reinforcement to an estimated over 50,000 UPDF personnel.
