Mr. Brian Kwesiga
UNAA President:

Thank you for your service in UNAA and for organizing the convention in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Main purpose of this email is to bring to your attention the high registration fees for the upcoming convention. I received an email informing me that the UNAA Convention registration fees is now $240.00 per head.

What surprised me is that I also received an email from UNAA informing me that this year UNAA will receive $100,000 funding/sponsorship/contribution from the Uganda government. This is an increase of 400% from the previous year(2014) in sponsorship. Then I immediately thought that this sponsorship combined with others from Post Bank, MoneyGram, UTB etc would definitely reduce the cost of registration.

As a resident of New Orleans, Louisiana for the last three years and also a member of UNAA I think the $240 registration fee is on a higher side. With the type of funding you have I would strongly recommend that you keep the registration below $200. Surely you can keep it at $180

Take for example a UNAA member coming from Los Angeles, California to New Orleans for the convention; I normally fly to Los Angeles from Louis Armstrong to LAX on a monthly basis, the cheapest round trip is $400, now for the Hotel(Hyatt) for three days it will be $500,  I can also factor in food for one person and transportation in the city will be another $500. Before the registration it will be $1400 for a single individual on a conservative side. I think you can give UNAA members a break by keeping the registration  lower than what you have. You may want discuss with your team and see how you can bring that down. At least that is my opinion.

Once again, thank you for your service to our community.

Sincerely,
