Rule of law report puts Uganda among the worst
Written by SAMUEL KAMUGISHAUganda is one of the worst performing countries as regards the rule of law, the 2015 Rule of Law Index by the World Justice Project (WJP) that was released in the US on Tuesday has indicated.
Of the 102 countries sampled, Uganda stands at number 95, beating only seven countries of Nigeria, Cameroon, Pakistan, Cambodia, Zimbabwe, Afghanistan and Venezuela in that order.
Of the 18 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, Uganda is in the 15th position, beating only Nigeria, Cameroon and Zimbabwe.
Other countries are Botswana, Burkina Faso, Cote d'Ivoire, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Liberia and Madagascar; Malawi, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tanzania and Zambia complete the list.
Botswana, Ghana, South Africa, Senegal and Malawi beat the rest of their counterparts from Africa as best performers.
In the East African region, Uganda is also at the tail end, trailing behind Tanzania (72nd) and Kenya (84th), the only countries sampled in region.
The Scandinavian countries of Denmark, Norway and Sweden lead the rest in observing and upholding the rule of law, followed by Finland and Netherlands. New Zealand, Austria, Germany, Singapore and Australia complete the list of the top ten.
The Index measures the everyday experience of the rule of law, with the scores and rankings based on 47 indicators in eight categories of government powers, absence of corruption, open government, fundamental rights, order and security, regulatory enforcement, civil justice, and criminal justice.
Over 100,000 households and 2,400 experts took part in the surveys to find out how ordinary citizens experienced the rule of law.

The massage being portrayed here is clear if you are against them and not among them automatically you are subjected to all sorts of torture, humiliation and intimidation.
They are on bought time it won't be for long before it runs out.
The data was spot on now that another grim report is out confirming what most Ugandans know & endure every waking hour.
Uganda is headed for a major league disaster that will dwarf all of the past turmoil since independence.
Good points, Phalanch. If it takes torture, humiliation and intimidation to give the country political stability, don't complain. Police are shortchanging Ugandans.
Another excellent photo!
Thanks!
And Museveni, the devil of modern times has been supported by so called democracies whose diplomatic representatives turned blind eyes-deaf ears while the dictator installed the most diabolical tribalistic system of rule ever seen on earth!
Even today, not 1 of these so called democrates who cry loud 'human rights-democrac y' has called on Uganda tribal leaders, who like their diplomats, enjoy luxury in Uganda, while an entire population is reduced to nothing!
All Ugandans know today is 'tribalism' & they defend it, which makes Museveni the happiest devil ever knowing tribally divided the way it is ,Ugandans will NEVER be in position to kick him out!
Yet, this is also a pupulation W.democracy want to become homosexuals at all cost as a priority!
No wonder West-North-Extr eme East Africa poor are making their way across the Mediterranean, they know the right kind of help needed will never come!
While God won't punish Ugandans for rejecting homosexuality, He will surely punish us for being tribalists-enem ies of ourselves!
Funny, it's our tribalism keeping Museveni in power, just as he planned-put in place with no objection from any of us!
Why shouldn't so called developed world impose whatever they want on us if it makes them, like Museveni, look powerful to the rest of the world? We are powerless & can't even defend our children, leave alone giving them a future!
Thanks!
What is wrong with Ugandans to allow this to continue?
NRM Government was elected by the majority of wainanchi and its sole duty is to protect them and their freedoms from anarchy and terrorists!
Should Uganda Government sit quietly and allow paid terrorists and bojaje to set Uganda on fire like in Burundi?/Hell No !! No, and n o!!
Go M7 you the Champion of revival of rule of law and democracy in Uganda and Guarantor of Peace and Security of Uganda.
We,Ugandans do not want to shed our blood no more!We lost so many in our history. Let others mind their own business in their own backyard. Leave Uganda and M7,NRM supporters and wainanchi alone and in peace!
