“The primary targets of the LRA attacks are members of the Acholi tribe. Since the mid-1990s, the LRA attacks and the conflict have forced almost three quarters of the Acholi population to flee their homes (The International Criminal Court). Acholi tribal members make up the majority of the LRA, including Joseph Kony himself. Unfortunately, since the British established the protectorate of Uganda in 1894, tensions have existed between the Acholi and Uganda’s southern region. President Museveni is a member of a southern tribal group, and Kony’s claim was to overthrow the government to bring the Acholi back into power.”

This is exactly where the problem in Northern Uganda  needs to be understood. Yes NRA attacked Acholi and yes they committed massive crimes up there, but the reasoning of Barigye that Acholi did not commit crimes to their people, must be disturbing to every intelligent Ugandan.
