{UAH} The Role of Uganda Police

Dear All,

Could someone knowledgeable with police work educate us on what police are expected to do? What I see is something close to liberation war scenarios where there are two fronts in the execution of liberation: the political and military wings. In Uganda we have had two clear arrangements fitting that categorization first with the UNLF/UNLA and NRM/NRA.

Nowadays it seems the new arrangement is National Resistance Moment Organization (NRMO) backed up by its paramilitary wing Uganda Police Force (UPF). With the NRMO/UPF fully operational, can we say the liberation of Uganda has entered another phase where UPF is a party armed wing?
