Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has asked graduantes to look beyond their fields of study in the search for jobs.

Kalonzo told graduates at a ceremony he presided over in Uganda on Friday to take advantage of ICT, be innovative and create employment.

"[Technological advancements] make you different from other generations before you. Make sure you use that power for grand purposes," he told them.

"You can create a new world because you have been equipped to innovate, do mighty exploits and change today's job market for the better."

Kalonzo said his position as the Chancellor of Uganda Technology and Management University in Kampala shows regional cooperation can be realised.

He lauded Tanzania President Jakaya Kikwete and Uganda PM Ruhakana Rugunda for their efforts in reviving regional cooperation.

Kalonzo, who has been the institution's Chancellor since its inception three years ago, further asked the graduates to support their families and friends in a show of gratitude for their success.

He conferred Masters degree, degrees and advanced diplomas in different disciplines on more than 80 students.

VC Venansius Baryamureebe said the school has gradually achieved recognition with the number of students standing at 1,049.

"But this I know, UPC believed and still believes in
very high education. We can call Obote all bad names we have, but the bottom line remains that he got more scholarships for Buganda than all previous Uganda leaders combined. That includes Sir Edward Mutesa, President Lule, President Binayisa, up to and into Ssabasajja Mutebi. Who all happen to be Baganda leaders." Mulindwa
