{UAH} Ocen//250 years of "Uganda": These are the 15 things I would love to bring back to life

Folks;

Uganda is not a curious nation. We have never developed the culture of reading, beyond what is necessary to prepare for some examinations. So, academically speaking, we are mostly an ignorant nation.

Historically, we tend to preserve what is traditional to our cultures. And so, some of the things in Onyango-Obbo's wish list were destroyed, because they did not register in our priority in conservation: train engines, first car, first type-writer, etc.

While the colonial system bequeathed to us robust libraries and the national Museum, subsequent governments did not find it valuable to set aside funds to expand these institutions. As such, they soon were unable expand their collections. In short order, libraries were out of books, and Museums did not have any new attractions.

In this kind of official neglect and indifference, how can Charles possibly expect to find the First Bible in Uganda, or the identity of the First Couple married in church in Uganda?
