{UAH} Okurut Peter: M7 Has Outperformed Obote in Health – Minister Muhwezi
The minister of information and national guidance Rtd. Major General Jim Muhwezi Katugugu has blasted the Uganda People's Congress (UPC)'s consistent claims that it was during their regimes that most health facilities in Uganda were built.
Minister Muhwezi dismissed this as fallacy, noting that it has in fact been during the NRM government that every sub country has received a health center facility.

Rtd Gen. Muhwezi tries out the new ambulance given to Buhunga health center 4 by Ministry of Health
The late President Milton Obote has often been credited for his performance in social services during his two regimes, by both NRM critics and some supporters as well.
State House archives also praise him for implementing "the most notable development projects in the country, when his government constructed 22 big hospitals and at least 30 big secondary schools across the country."But Minister Muhwezi said on Wednesday that this cannot be compared to what the NRM has archived in revamping the country's health sector.
"Our friends in the UPC keep telling us they built 20 hospitals in Uganda. Today in Rukungiri district alone we have 58 health centers that include health centre 4s and health center 3s," said General Muhwezi.
He made the remarks while opening a theater at Buhunga H/C IV in Rujumbura County, Rukungiri district where they also received an ambulance.
The equipment was provided by Ministry of Health in an African Development Bank funded project.
He asked the health workers at the health center to properly use the equipment given to them so that the patients like pregnant mothers get proper health care services. He also cautioned against theft of drugs and health equipment.
