{UAH} UGANDANS CAN AVOID THE BUMPY RIDE AHEAD!
Ugandans who will not heed the advice to go federal will not enjoy the easy ride on offer above an all terrain juggernaut. They will make do with kikwangalla politics with no shock absorbers to cushion them from the bumps ahead. Like the incompetent Chinese road builders, Mu7 is laying a pathway for his cronies to take over and Ugandans are overwhelmingly, accepting to walk down this path without question.
-- The preliminary results of the NRA primaries reveal that Ugandans are intoxicated with the same old lies, and unfulfilled promises therefore, desperate for change. But by voting at all, for a NRM candidate, as a flag bearer, they have acted like an intoxicated and wounded drank in search of fresh air, who tries to climb out through a narrow window, but to no avail. The parable, "New wine cannot be put in an old skin" does not make sense to them. The flag bearers, should they win, will do the same as the losers they have replaced because they belong to the same old skin. Simply go to enrich themselves; period!. To them, the Uganda parliament has become like Hollywood to any aspiring actor and so the desire to go there is overwhelming. The question to ask, so far is; Does the result from the primaries, a true representation of desire for change among voters? The answer, in my opinion is a gaping; yes!
The answer to the question above maybe right but with it, comes more considerations like, what sort of change are Ugandans looking for; how are they going to achieve that; what consequences for not heeding to this instinct to change? These are the questions many Ugandans have not bothered to look at and so, they are stuck in a troubled house with no doors but windows which they cannot climb through.
The few Ugandans who have attempted to answer all these questions, zero down to some form of devolution, as the nearest answer. A a reduction of power from the centre, to demagnetise the overwhelming attraction to the seat of power. The problem with these group of Ugandans is their failure to take the next bold step, acknowledging their finding and acting on it. They have simply resigned to the bumpy ride ahead rather than accept the fact that, the next change should take the form of federalism at best or some form of devolution at worse. This is not a crossroad, but an open road to openly, stubborn but lazy people not ready to take the first step!
