Scientists have discovered a cure for baldness

Bald people of the world will be thrilled to hear a scientist from Columbia University believes she's found a cure for a lack of hair.

A new drug she's been testing on mice is said to stop the hair follicles falling into a resting state.

Dr Angela Christiano from Columbia University, said: "What we've found is promising, though we haven't yet shown it's a cure for pattern baldness.

"More work needs to be done to test if JAK (Janus kinase inhibitors) inhibitors can induce hair growth in humans using formulations specially made for the scalp."

'There aren't many compounds that can push hair follicles into their growth cycle so quickly,' She added.

What makes this incredible story even more impressive is that Dr Christiano and her team accidentally discovered the effect of JAK inhibitors on hair follicles.

The team were studying alopecia areata - also known as spot baldness - when they stumbled across the 'cure'.

Mice treated for five days with a JAK inhibitor grew brand new shiny hair within just 10 days.

It's thought the mice grew more hair when the substance was applied directly to the skin rather than systematically.

After testing the drug on human hair follicles it had the same effect - news which will no doubt thrill thousands of follicly-challenged people in Britain.

The JAK inhibitors awakened 'resting' hair follicles out of dormancy - producing luscious thick locks.

Dr Christiano said: "Some topical agents induce tufts of hair here and there after a few weeks, but very few compounds have this potent an effect so quickly."

Without God, our week would be: Sinday, Mournday, Tearsday,Wasteday, Thirstday, Fightday & Shatterday. Remember seven days without God makes one WEAK!!"And if Allah touches you with harm, none can remove it but He, and if He touches you with good, then He is Able to do all things." (6:17)
