{UAH} Urban and Infrastructure Development Conference : Post Widely

Dear Sir/Madam

Good Morning.

With this mail, I am inviting your organisation to join the initiative for 2nd Urban and Infrastructure Development Conference for the East and Central African Region http://uidc.siup.ac.ug on the 5th -6th October 2016.

This conference is now an annual event bringing together; Policy Makers, Technical Personnel, Local Governments, Innovators and the Corporate world from; USA, Asia, Africa, and Europe  to explore sustainable ways for Urban and Infrastructure Development in the region.

The conference held its first ever 1st Urban and Infrastructure Development meeting on the 14th-15th October 2015.  http://busiweek.com/index1.php?Ctp=2&pI=4319&pLv=3&srI=67&spI=120&cI=15.

A number of issues emerged among which were notably; Green Investment, Project Financing, Transport, Planning, Smartcities, Urban Technologies etc., input in the East and Central Africa Urban and infrastructure development – you can read the summary on the website above.

This is an enormous undertaking that covers: Housing, Transport, Technology, Communication, Energy, Utilities etc. You are well aware that in this part of the world, despite enormous growth, there are very few well planned and developed towns and cities. Existing cities have enormous issues with housing, traffic, flooding, utility and amenities deficits etc. We need funding support for this and future conferences.

I am therefore inviting your organisation to team up with me, to build up and be part of a secretariat that will be organizing the 2nd Urban and Infrastructure Development Conference for East and Central Africa on the 5th-6th October 2016. As East Africans we need a collective action towards city development- this involves Green Transport and Transit systems, Housing, Utilities and Amenities etc. and of course financing.

Currently I am working with Ministries of Lands, Housing and Urban Development /Works and Transport in; Kenya, Uganda, Malawi, Rwanda. Tanzania, Burundi, South Sudan and Somalia will join. Ethiopia has already expressed interest to be part of the conference. I can send further information and a budget if you find this interesting.

You can pass on this mail to your members and partners or simply send me their mails I will contact them.

I am looking forward to your positive response, participation, suggestions and proposals.
