{UAH} HELP NEEDED

Gwokto

And let me clear this one up kindly, I hate it when you make suggestions such as "Advise family to prep a lawyer" when you know very well that this is not possible. For the fact that the girl lived in Kawempe and the mother in Bugerere is a clear sign that she comes from a poverty stricken family who may not even afford a meal a day. She risked her life through people like Betty Kamya who are urging young people to go to the Arab world in search of a better life. It is a common knowledge that Arabs are known for mistreating these maids. Filipinos housemaids in UAE know this best. Previously Ugandans only went to foreign countries for education on either public or private scholarships not to work as housemaids. This phenomenon started after the destruction of Uganda's infrastructure by Acholi and blossomed under NRA. Uganda was a country to which our neighbors flocked to in search of a better life in the early 60s and late 70s. Today it is  Ugandans going all over the place in search of "kyeyo".  President Iddi Amin can be blamed for many things, but not for the kind of culture created since his departure. Call me pro Amin or a Nubian things I am used to, but the truth speaks for itself, Acholi and Tutsi screwed Uganda big time. The type of mission Uganda has overseas can not be considered diplomatic representatives. These are mission of thieves to say the least. If truly that girl is sleeping outside the embassy in Dubai, God forbid, the so-called liberation of 1979 and 1986 should be considered null and void. With the exception of Paul Muwanga who sold Uganda's properties in Paris, Amin's diplomats were no thieves. A good example was the late Ombiga that served as an accountant at the Uganda mission in Ottawa. He returned $1 million dollars back to Uganda when Amin's government was overthrown. That is what you call patriotism, honesty and love for one's country. As for the stranded girl in Dubai, Gwokto you tell us everyday here that you work for a powerful American company making a lot of money, why not for once help this girl out. Why always ask for other people to help when you are in a better position to do the same. And if they do not help you blame them and call them fools and animals.

And Gwokto where is your brother that was killing Somalis for Museveni, can he fund this project? Just asking !!!!!

This is completely unacceptable. An abused and needy Ugandan in a foreign country fleeing abuse and seeking help at her country's embassy is locked out and left to suffer at its gates?

This girl has a right to sue the government of Uganda big time.

Advise family to prep a lawyer, please. She will come back home, alright but many questions will have to be answered by government.

Usually up here where I livee - Canada, that is - government (embassy) would rush in to help even under doubtful circumstances such as lack of travel docs while verifying claims of nationality. For God's shake, which Ugandan on earth can't tell a Muganda is a Muganda. Name alone speaks volumes in addition to fluency in Luganda.

The girl or her family wwould have to foot the bills for her rescue later but she would have made it b ack home safe.

Animals...!
