{UAH} Ocen, WBK//Headteachers on the sport as Matian'i visit schools

Folks;

Apparently, the Education Cabinet Secretary is pulling a Magufuli on Kenyan teachers, but his approach spells disaster.

He's embarrassing this headteacher in front of his charges (teachers, pupils) and strangers (reporters, education officials.) The CS should have held an off-camera meeting with the headteacher, listened to his answers, and then make the decision on the principal's employment as an administrative measure.

For all we learn here, the headteacher could as well be telling the whole, and real, story about the peanut budget that he received as funding for school improvement.

I do support prudent financial management in every aspect of public sector; but haphazard, wrong-headed tactics that are aimed at generating publicity, won't do the job.
