It is important to note that the following veteran politicians were once Obote's confidants: Museveni, Bidandi Ssali. K.Kivejinja, A Mbabazi and Ruhakana Rugunda. With time Museveni chose to desert Obote and later on Dr. Rugunda joined him. Dr.Obote was so disappointed with Rugunda's decition to join Museveni that he said. " RUGUNDA HAS SOLD HIS CONSCIOUSNESS TO THE DEVIL"
