{UAH} All roads now lead to Rome!
Yes, this is correct judging by the crowds now flocking the Eternal City
to participate in the Holy Week ceremonies and especially the Easter sundaywhen Pope Francis celebrated Mass in St Peter's square before 150,000 pilgrims among whom many cardinals and bishops from all over the world, very
many pilgrims have been arriving in Rome. Last Wednesday's weekly papal audience in St Peter's Square, drew crowds that filled half of the vast Square. Among them were pilgrimages from the MIddle East, Angola, Mozambique, Indonesia, in addition to those others from all parts of the world! It took the Pope 20 minutes to wave to all of them from his popemobile which tried to make its way through the vast crowds!
Palm Sunday itself was an occasion for the Pope to request both Africa and the European Union to study the question on refugees and immigrants. A permanent solution was now a necessity.....!
Palm Sunday was very successfully celebrated all over the world! In Africa there was the High Mass celebrated in a big stadium in Kinshasa by Cardinal Laurent Pasinya Monsengwo before 40,000 youths. And other events took place all over the continent! And the Saturday Easter vigil Mass during which many catechumens will be baptized will also be an occasion to grace Africa as a place where half of those Holy Saturday baptisms take place! They numbered close to a million last year in Africa alone! The Pope seizes the occasion to baptize a number of catechumens, usually one from each continent. Just as for the Stations of the Cross to be presided by him at Rome's Coliseum with the holy cross being carried in turns by special group representatives from all continents.
After Easter pilgrims will continue to flock to the Eternal City to participate in events programmed for the Holy Year of Mercy. Among key events will be the canonization of famous Mother Teresa of Calcutta. This will be a global world event that will gather in Rome hundreds of thousands of pilgrims, if not a million given the immense popularity the holy nun enjoys all over the world!
Many Indians of all religious denominations have already booked for Rome!
All european countries will pour pilgrims to Rome. And Africa won't fail to answer present!
Other events taking place, this time outside Rome, will be the World youth Day in Cracow ( Poland ) where over 2,500,000 youths have been booked!
And in France, starting from tomorrow (Holy Friday) and going on up to April 10 2016, at the famous Argenteuil Basilica near Paris will be specially exposed what is believed to have been Jesus Christ's Holy Tunic. Normally this great relic is exposed once every fifty years and for one month only. It was supposed to be shown again in 2028 thereabouts but Rome requested to exceptionally expose it during this Holy Year of Mercy. I personally saw this tunic when it was last exposed several years ago. Ages have turned it into a dark black tissue of cloth. It's in form of a real tunic which is kept in a security reinforced bomb-proof coffer. And when exposed it remains encassed in another bomb-proof transparent shelf. Millions will line up to see the relic!
