{UAH} Mr Lutimba Matovu: IGP Kayihura bails out KB, while JPAM files a petition and sort of bails out NRM
Mr. Lutimba Matovu:
Alas, your saying about 'Kibuyaaga'/wind has come to pass!. Indeed. Police siege of KB's home was a blessing in disguise. It made it very easy for KB to not file a petition, which many desperately wanted him to do so for obvious reasons. So for once IGP Kale Kayihura's actions led to the best outcome, obviously at NRM's moral expense.
But NRM too got what it so badly desired when JPAM lawyer at 5.07 pm-what time do Courts in Uganda close-went before the Supreme Court to file a petition. I do not want to say NRM-read police -and the judiciary went away of the way to wait as along as it took for JPAM's lawyers to reach the Supreme Court.
QN: do ordinary Ugandans get into courts after 5.00pm pm, which I believe is the end of the working day in Uganda or is it now the case that courts are open any hour? Hmm. Ok, how desperate was NRM to see anyone file a petition so the rigging could finally get approval from a majority of the judges that they were prepared to keep the Courts open for as long as necessary?
We already know NRM-read Ofwono Opondo's-talking points will be. That the Supreme Court ruled elections were free and fair. Bingo
