I feel there's much children can do to get to grips with what they are doing in school. Every trading centre has furniture, masonry, mechanics children can hang around with to gain experiential knowledge of everyday life instead of spending it in class reading with hands on.

They can even help in hospital by cleaning and making beds – which actually nurse do as part of their practical work. Such experiences are essential to make children love for work stick.

Most university students here appear not to know exactly what they need to study. And the world has changed is continually changing: Banks are downsizing in face of mobile money, traditional business orgaisation is being replaced with Steve Jacobism and Bill Gatism organisation structure - you produce what you profess.

And America appears to be succeeding with this very structure.

My view is that children from senior three should choose what they want to study and focus on that instead of doing 8 - 9 courses. That traditional structure does not help much.

 

We really need to refocus children into the world we live in than a perception office life which is ever shrinking.

What is the logic behind the 3 term system for Secondary / Primary Education system?

·         Children spend most of the time at School - this has negative effect on their upbringing.

·         It is costly for parents to pick children i.e. these three days of Easter. Moreover what are children really achieved this term?

·         Children must be involved in a three - four month practical /industrial work every year

The term should start in January and end in early June.

The second term should start in September and end in December

Holidays should start in June and end in September where children will be involved in practical or industrial work.

 

Three to four months every year children must be involved industrial experience or civil services for every child starting at 15 up to 18 years before the 19^th birthday. The selection of industrial experience should be done jointly with the parent/caretaker and school. That is a total of 360 days and 2880 hours that must be documented and reflected on ones high school certificate.
