UGANDANS HAVE BEEN DENIED ENTRY INTO KENYA
Several Ugandans are stranded at the Uganda Kenya Boarder and have appealed to the government to intervene in the action by the Kenya authorities. Kenya has denied entry into the country without a yellow fever card.
Over one thousand Ugandans were turned away from accessing Kenya. Most of these travelers are Ugandans without a yellow fever vaccination card.
It follows a Kenyan Government directive to the immigration officials in Kenya not to allow any body in Kenya without a yellow fever card issued ten days before entry.
Several Ugandans who had crossed into Kenya have been sent back and are now stranded at Busia border.
Those that are stranded include the medical sports team of Uganda medical workers who were travelling for a friendly football match with Kenya.
In Masaka, over ten people have so far died of yellow fever.
In Rwanda officials are urging anybody entering Rwanda to have yellow fever vaccination to avoid being inconvenienced.
Business has come to a standstill at the Uganda-Kenya boarder following the expulsion of Ugandans from Kenya for luck of yellow fever vaccination.
Capital Radio talked to some of the affected Ugandan Businessmen who said who had transported goods to Kenya. They say they have had to return to Uganda with their goods and are now stranded after spending a lot of money in clearing their goods to Kenya.
The businessmen say their goods are perishable and they are likely to make losses because of the decision by Kenyans authorities.
