It is a nightmare whether it is Mbrara , Kabale or Kampala!

It is going to cost huge sums. Kabale Town hills are already excavated and being overbuilt by the moneyed class! Don't mind the necessary infrastructure.

Mbarara is already a gone case!

 

Mr. Silver Mugisha is a smart engineer. He is rapidly extending the sewerage system across the city. However, the heavy rains are exposing the engineering gaps of his project.

a.   The pipes are being placed in the middle of the unplanned roads uphill ! (not road reserves)- soil erosion is giving the contractors a hard time as it eats upthe roads to expose the pipes.  

b.      The sewerage lines which they are creating are not integrated into other systems which makes it stand in isolation and it will eventually has to be dismantled- keep my word on this.

c.   They are creating lagoons downhill in the wetlands – the stench in Kawempe lagoon is unbearable! So it will be elsewhere and public health issues will arise as sociey becomes aware of the debacle.

 Mr. Silver Mugisha does not have a lot of choices, he has to deliver anyway, working with now cripple KCCA!

The solution is what Rwanda has embarked on – resettling massively, creating small compact towns with a complete infrastructure – they are using bio -digesters. This would be a long term solution but require to move people.

Jennifer Musisi (Magufuli) given the vendors dismay is in already in bad books!

 

And Kagame is a very interesting person. He is always discussing these issues in technical peole and the public.

what is really interestig is the way Phne companies and Umeme are doing their thing - profit! Design and the rest can go to hell - Uganda haaa!
