{UAH} Govt urged to set up juvenile facility in Kitgum

Ugandans,

What has happened to us? Instead of asking government to build schools, hospitals, increasing employment opportunities, projects etc, we get one leader asking for more prisons/jail. President Museveni should declare such leaders as security risks, they have failed to educate our youth. They should be fired.

" T he nearest remand home is located in Gulu district, 100 kilometers away:  Kitgum LC 5 Chairperson, Jackson Omona has appealed to the Ministry of Gender Labour and Social Development, to establish a juvenile detention facility in the district. He said he was shocked to learn that children who come in conflict with the law in Kitgum district were being detained in the same cells with adult offenders."

Instead, such children should released and disciplined at home  with supervision.
