{UAH} Mr Nekyon: 13 women shortlisted for Deputy CJ post and 18 for Supreme court
Mr Nekyon:
apparently there is a desire to have judges from small ethnic communities. So pay attention to the DCJ as well especially, Muslim judges, judges from, Justice Pauline Nyamweya from Kisii, (daughter of former minister and brother to a former DP SG and , nominated MP ). Judges from pastoral communities such as Justice Lenaola from Samburu.
And Ms Surinder Kapila, from the famed Kapila family. One of the women lawyer listed for DCJ was our neighbour . she was such a good neighbour to us.
Lady Justice Muli Murgor is the daughter of the late AG Jsutice Guy Muli and wife to Mr Murgor former DPP. She is as establishment as they come but the thinking may be to reward small ethnic groups on the Supreme Court so look for Taita, Samburu, Kisii, Indian, Muslim and may be Meru. No one from Kamwana proper.
Btw, sections of LSK are not happy Dr Makau Mutua was cut
www.nation.co.ke JSC has shortlisted 18 people for the post of Supreme Court judge. |
