Woman who suffered brutal beating by police officer that was caught on CCTV is found dead in her prison cell 

  • Sarah Reed found dead in cell at Holloway Prison in Islington last month
  • 32-year-old was subjected to brutal assault by Met Police officer in 2012  
  • James Kiddie was caught on CCTV punching Ms Reed in face three times
  • He also dragged her by the hair across the floor of Regent Street office
  • Kiddie convicted of assault in 2014 after footage of attack emerged 

A woman who suffered a brutal assault by a police officer has been found dead in her prison cell.

Sarah Reed, 32, was punched three times and dragged by the hair by officer James Kiddie in a horrific attack at clothing store Uniqlo in Regent Street, London, which was caught on CCTV.

The 45-year-old Metropolitan Police officer was convicted of the assault in 2014 at Westminster Magistrates' Court and given a 12-month community order and kicked out the force.

Ms Reed, who was being arrested on suspicion of shoplifting at the time of the attack, has now been found dead at Holloway Prison in Islington, north London.

She was said to have been found unresponsive in her prison cell last month.
