There are new sounds in the Ugandan music industry and to be honest the females are killing it. They might not be popular yet but we sure as hell they will be. We introduce Akongo, the village girl from Tororo who is about to make some sweet love to your ears.

Akongo Teddy Noeline, born on 25 December and better known by her stage name Akongo, is a Ugandan musician and model.

Akimiti her first ever released song in 2014 caught my ear and I didn't want to stop listening. This song is a fusion of afro pop and soul and it is basically about a woman abused by her man and she decides to let everything out through song. She has some interesting falsettos she tries out with her soul voice in the single and you just keep glued to her.

Akimiti is an Adhola word that loosely translates to "I don't want"

She has done other songs like Bulijjo and Bamukwano, equally good songs too. She also has been featured on a couple of projects by rappers in the Ugandan music industry, songs like Share Love with LugandaXLz, Aphrodite by Ajo, Enkobogo by Moroz, etc

She incorporates Adhola, English, Kiswahili and Luganda to come up with a diffused blend of South African-like Afro House sound. She is like a mini Lira. Not the district but the artiste.

This one is very good for the future, for you can tell she is great with live instruments.
