August 13, 2016(Nyamilepedia) —— South Sudan's armed opposition, under the leadership of SPLM/SPLA-IO, has closed down major supply routes leading to the national capital, Juba.

According to Machar's spokesman, James Gatdet Dak, the opposition forces have locked down Juba-Bor road, Juba-Yei road and Juba-Mundri roads.

Gatdet believes that their forces have besieged the capital as their forces are stationed in Mongala areas, a few kilometres away from Juba.

"Juba-Bor road is being closed by our forces who are currently around Mongala area as the national capital is being besieged from different directions. They clashed with President Kiir's forces on Saturday, neutralizing 10 of the enemy soldiers and capturing one military truck." Said James Gatdet Dak, the Press Secretary of Dr. Machar.

"Also our forces are in full control of Juba-Yei and Juba-Mundri roads as well as in control of the northwest direction of the capital in Terekeka area." he continued.

The opposition claimed Bari Lobonok, the hometown of Second Vice President, James Wani Igga, yesterday.

Gatdet reiterates that their forces have cut off Lobonok from Juba and more fighting continues in Yei town, the capital City of Yei River state.

According to Gatdet, the opposition forces in Greater Equatoria are working to close down Juba-Nimule and Juba-Torit road anytime.

"Soon our forces will also close Juba-Nimule and Juba-Torit roads.. It is a matter of time before they move on Juba against the offenders and take full control of the city so as to restore law and order." Gatdet continued.

Although Juba could not confirm the reports, Salva Kiir administration is still digesting the UNSC Resolution 2304 while contemplating whether it should confront the 4000 troops or not.
