fyi, most super-rich people like Trump do not such taxes...or pay smaller percentage of their taxes than low income people. In the first 2-3 years of my life as fresh attorney, I assisted tax partners that devised ways for super-rich folks avoid paying taxes or helping them pay the least amount possible.  These are folks that donated to BOTH democrats and Republicans...that is why BOTH parties do NOT change tax loopholes that Bernie Sanders used to rally against.  To some extent, in 2008 Warren Buffet (who'd frequently mention that his secretary paid a higher income than Buffet) also tried to persuade candidate Obama to support closing those loopholes but once Obama got into power, he abandoned that fight. e.g hedge fund managers earn billions a year but they pay zero tax because they can keep carrying over their income to the next year. In 2008 and 2012, candidate Obama promised to fight to close that loophole.  He tried it in 2009 but senate democrats opposed it! Bernie Sanders revived talk of banning that loophole but NEITHER Trump NOR Hillary has proposed to close that loophole.  Trump cant do it because it benefits him.  Hillary benefits from it too but her large donors benefit from it too and would be very upset if she touched it.  

Another example is social security. The social security tax is 6.2 on earnings up to 118,500. Any income above that does NOT incur social security taxation!  i.e for those that earn up to $118k, you have to be taxed on 100% of your income.  If you earn billions a year, you pay the SAME social security tax as someone that earns $118k! Both parties have refused to change that!...i.e a corporate paralegal pays the same amount as the hedge fund manager!

Another example are folks that buy and sell shares a lot...even if it automated.  They don't taxes if they reach a certain number of transactions per quarter.  I think i explained that game on this forum in a discussion with Dr Lugemwa.
