12-year-old boy hangs self for being taken to garden on Idd day

Angered by being sent to work in a garden as Muslims celebrated Idd al-Adhua day, a 12-year-old boy chose to hang himself in Kaliro Town Council in Kaliro District.
Nicolas Wanjkanja, son of Fred Malinzi, is said to have been sent to the garden with his sister Christine Nairuba during the Muslim festive day Monday as other Non-Muslims enjoyed a rest day, something the boy found unacceptable.
His body was found hanging on a tree near their home in Kalitunsi zone in Kaliro Town Council.
Nairuba said her brother had expressed annoyance over being sent to the garden during Idd al-Adhua festivities before he was found dead.
But the Police in Kaliro are yet to make a comment on the circumstances surrounding this death.
The Kaliro District OC/ CID, Mr Robert Asendu confirmed the incident saying the medical report had indicated that Wanjkanja hanged himself.
Asendu added that the body was handed to the relatives for burial.
