Besigye's wife Winnie Byanyima dies in London – Dw-Tv3

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM — Uganda's Forum for Democratic Change leader, Dr. Kizza Besigye has lost his wife Winnie Byanyima in London, Metro news reports.

According to the Mirror, Winnie Byanyima died in the early hours of Sunday morning after being rushed to the Westminster Hospital for cardiac arrest.

She was 57 and had a son with the opposition leader.

Winifred Byanyima was an aeronautical engineer, politician, and diplomat. She was the executive director of Oxfam International, to which she was appointed in May 2013. Before that, she served as the director of the Gender Team in the Bureau for Development Policy at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) from 2006.
