North Korean leader Kim Jong Un reportedly got drunk, scolded senior military brass in his country and made them write him apology letters earlier this year, only to forget the whole thing the next morning.

A source in the country, speaking on the condition of anonymity, told the Tokyo Shimbun newspaper that Kim was severely drunk in September when he allegedly ordered members of his military leadership to write statements of apology or self-criticism.

"That none of you were able to produce not even one military satellite is a misconduct that is commensurate to treason," Kim is reported to have said to the officials.

The next morning, the 32-year-old leader,– the world's youngest head of government – seemed to have forgotten what had happened earlier, and noted the officials' ages.

"Why are you gathered here?" Kim allegedly said. "Be careful about your health because you are all old."

Kim has been said to at times be a heavy drinker, and The Guardian reports drinking generally is popular in the authoritarian country. North Korea has even claimed to have invented a hangover-free alcohol.

While the North gets its alcohol from China more than anywhere else, Germany reportedly led the world in supplying the country with whiskey, vodka and wine of late.
