© Provided by Associated News Unless you've been living under a rock for the last week, you'll most likely have seen the clip of Melania Trump's changing expression from last Friday's inauguration. 

The now infamous moment came when her husband, President Donald Trump, appeared to turn around to look at her. 

At once, Melania plastered a huge smile on her face but as soon as his back was turned, her face fell into a very downcast expression.

Eagle-eyed viewers spotted it immediately and put it on social media where it has been watched and shared thousands of times. 

© Provided by Associated News However, what people want to know now is what did Trump say to cause her mood to change so drastically in the space of a few seconds?

The latest theory is that Donald didn't say anything to her. In fact, he may not even have been looking at her at all. 

© Provided by Associated News Melania's face If you look closely, you'll see that the one who actually makes eye contact with the new prez is his daughter Ivanka, who is standing behind Melania, slightly to the right.

And people are theorising that Melania's face dropped because she was annoyed that Trump was ignoring her.

Speculation is mounting that Ivanka may eclipse Melania as the real 'First Lady' to Trump's presidency. 

After all, she had a much higher profile than her stepmother during the campaign trail and was at her dad's side throughout every negative headline, helping to soothe public backlash when things looked dire.

As well as that, she met with former VP Al Gore to discuss climate change last December and has served as hostess for visits from various foreign dignitaries. 

She even had a meeting with former vice President Al Gore to discuss climate change in December.

Melania, on the other hand, won't be moving to the White House, deciding instead to remain in her apartment in New York City, where her 10-year-old son Barron attends school.
