WHY MWENDA WOULD TARGET ABBEY SEMUWEMBA IN THEIR HUNT FOR TVO!

Newspapers have for years controlled the outflow of information through the ironclad concept of scarcity, but the game has changed for social media. It is estimated that by 2019, newspapers will be extinct in the UK. By 2025, they'll die out in 20 countries across the globe. This is mainly because most readers are less willing to pay for news.Newspapers that don't command these big, older audiences will find it hard to compete for attention with social media. Social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram have implemented targeted advertising. So, newspapers arent making good money in adverts too.

In Uganda, apart from the Bukedde with a guaranted frame of customers especially Luganda reading elderly, the rest of the newspapers are struggling, and that includes Andrew Mwenda's magazine. Ever since Abbey Semuwemba started the famous Ugandans At Heart(UAH) forums, a lot of others forums have sprung up online, and this is being felt by every newspaper in Uganda. This is the main reason why Andrew Mwenda has listed him and three others as part of Tom Okwalinga group on Facebook. The intention is to alert security agencies to arrest him, or do something to him, because they believe that will mark the end of UAH, and also weaken activity of Ugandans on Facebook. So, in case anything happens to the UAH moderator soon or in future, just know that Andrew Mwenda is partly responsible. It's all jealousy!

Facebook has emerged as newspapers' public enemy number one. Users willingly pour endless personal information about themselves into Facebook, and that enables the site to sell targeted advertising around them. Mwenda knows that Abbey Semuwemba is innocent, but he is willing to destroy the life of another soul, like he did when Col. Patrick Karegeya used to pass on information to him before it emerged he was working for Paul Kagame.

After he quit The Monitor at a time when Col. Karegeya had fallen out with Kagame, Mwenda was thought to be feeding Kagame with information pertaining to the movements and activities of the dissident army Generals. The run away Generals had to cut off all links with Mwenda. Patrick was a rare breed of Rwandese; he made friends with all sorts of people regardless of ethinic and social standing. By character, he matched Gen Salim Saleh and no wonder they were close friends. But some people in the intelligence still partly blame Mwenda for his death.As a result, a lot of people in the itelligence are careful on what information now they share with him. I would not be surprised if the TVO scadelous info he wrote yesterday was meant to embarass him. The intelligence reports he used to share in his magazine have gone dry because everybody's lips are sealed. People dont trust him anymore.

While at The Monitor, Andrew Mwenda distinguished himself as a Journalist who could withstand Museveni's intimidation.But behind the scenes, he was in bed with the first family. He engaged as a fiance to the first lady's cousin sister, Fifi, who lives in the USA. Rumours about his homosexuality is something new to me, but its interesting. He became closer to the first son Muhoozi as a personal friend. His elder brothers Major Baguma of ISO and Col. Kayanja Muhanga formerly of JATT, are Museveni's close confidants in the NRA.
