{UAH} Benedicto Kiwanuka's strongholds in Masaka and Bukomansimbi will never embrace NRM!

There has been in the press an article on a ceremony proposed for
tomorrow Tuesday 14, 2017 in Bukomansimbi, the Great Benedicto Kiwanuka's
mother area, with intent to welcome NRM boss Museveni to an event to mark  State Minister
Nakiwala Kiyingi's nomination to the cabinet. And this is the Nakiwala who was defeated in
the Kampala women slot and who continues to claim her membership to DP, a party in which
her husband remains a firm member and is DP MP in that Bukomansimbi area.
According to the press report Nakiwala is rumoured to use the ceremony to hand to NRM many DP supporters.....This Minister of State for the Youth and Child Affairs, in a thank you to Museveni, intends to turn Bukomansimbi into an NRM fief! True or not true? In any case Nakiwala should dream about other things and completely forget about this childish plan! This area like all Greater Masaka region and very many other parts of the country have the great DP statesman inside their hearts and they will always remain loyal to him and to his great political doctrine and to his very most eminent personality which has refused to quash away from people's hearts, minds and souls in spite of the fact he died over forty years ago!! The presence of Museveni can't give any solid effect to anything relating to weakening the Democratic Party in that Masaka / Bukomansimbi region, Ben Kiwanuka's very natural fief and legendary stronghold which will always continue to be a no go area to any other party, in particular to NRM, whose sheepish Kyankwanzi-baked ideologies will never erode from that area the extra-foresighted thinking Ben Kiwanuka's political impact left there. The great statesman will always be remembered in his region, just like elsewhere in the nation, for his commitment to improve agriculture and the price of crops on the market, his courageous effort to improve education and all other things he had projected for Uganda and for the region. In any case when those humble Bukomansimbi people will see Nakiwala parading Museveni in the area that won't in any way remind them of their very great son Benedicto Kiwanuka who can't just simply be taken for an equivalent of an NRM leader! Kiwanuka is a world figure and is praised for the sacrifices he made for the nation and for Africa. His mother area is a respected corner of the country  always proud of the man who, if he was given the opportunity to rule this country, our beloved land wouldn't have seen any  single war on its soil and would be enjoying a flourishing economy with agriculture doing wonders, and we would be a real democracy with citizens priding in human rights, economic progress, and permanent prosperity! The Bukomansimbi ceremony will indeed be a challenge to the NRM authorities! Would they give any convincing reply to questions like the the high-powered and well-shaped inquiry into Kiwanuka's death? Would they be able to clarify on questions regarding the search for his remains? What would they say about instituting as public holiday the date of March 1st to remind Ugandans of that very historic March 1st 1962 when Benedicto Kiwanuka acquired internal self-rule for the country and for the first time Uganda saw a government led and manned by fellow nationals who in just a little spanse of time achieved so much for the country?
When I read that Nakiwala was set to hand over DP's ancestral home to Museveni at that Bukomansimbi party I wondered how strong she was even to just weaken DP in the area. These historical political forts are very difficult to tamper with! NRM has failed to get a thourough hold on Entebbe and Busiro South, Dr P.K. Ssemogerere's empire, it has failed to shine in Makindye where Hon Mr John Ssebaana Kizito is virtually venerated as leader, it finds it difficult to put up its head in Gulu where Hon Mr Norbert Mao is the real undisputed governor! Okay, let's now wait and see what Bukomansimbi will give them! In all cases the Bukomansimbi people with all their great political brains, as I know them, will not be the expected "goats"  to load on NRM trucks! Those NRM yellow trucks will return home to Kyaddondo Road empty but, nevertheless,  packed with shame and humiliation!!
G.H.K.
