{UAH} Dear Dr. Kizza Besigye. How Were Your "Idi Amin Days"?

Dear Dr. Kizza Besigye,
I saw your comment on the recent abduction of a City council official, and how you say it reminded you of the Amin days.
During the "Amin days", you were a young medical student freely educated by the Amin government in a well funded and well maintained education system. In those days all University students recieved a hefty monthly living allowance from the government.
The prestigious institution had well maintained facilities: the hostels, lecture halls, swimming pool, sports facilities, staff residences and laboratories were clean and modern. The teaching and non-teaching staff were all well paid. A presidential decree by Amin guaranteed that their salaries were promptly availed to them on the 24th of every month. Makerere University faculty of engineering designed and built a working plane in the Amin days. It was always displayed during the independence day parade that saw helicopters and jets do a colourful flyby to tens of thousand's of wowed spectators. The police motorcyclists displayed their tactical riding skills as well.
Basically that is the decent student life that you were in during "the Amin days".
It all changed for you when you started to experience real harrassment from the subsequent indisciplined Obote junta backed by the Tanzanians and which embarked on the disuse of government facilities around the country. That is what you say yourself in your own book as the reason for you "going to the bush" to join armed rebellion. An attempted abduction by Milton Obote's UNLA henchmen who were following you on real or perceived charges.
You then joined Mr. Yusuf Lule and Yoweri Museveni (both former Obote allies) to now fight the indisciplined and murderous Milton Obote junta.
The picture above is of the remains of the innocent Ugandan peasants who lost their lives when they fell victim to the infighting between Yusuf Lule and Yoweri Museveni on one side, and the Tanzanian backed UNLA/Obote regime on the other. The conflict and infighting amongst "the Ugandan exiles" lasted an entire decade starting from the day President Idi Amin left the country, and saw 500,000 civilians senslessly killed in Uganda's Luweero District alone. The whole figure countrywide is estimated at a million deaths.
This is the nonsense that Tanzania and the Ugandan exiles brought to Uganda and called it "liberation". I would call it madness.
You Dr. Besigye, were part of the carnage.
So hearing you talk about "the Amin era" as if you were not comfortably and peacefully studying, and yet this picture shows what was your subsequent livelihood in the Luweero bushes under the Obote regime, is quite disingenuous of you.
If there was anything more horrific than this in the history of Uganda I ask you to present the evidence.
The other day I read a news article about Chief Justice Mr. Bart Katureebe. He was also talking about "the Amin days". This is the person you claim was part of stealing your 2016 election where rampant violence, kidnappings and shootings occurred on a daily basis. I am still waitng for the total tally and names of the dead who didn't survive the mass deployment of armed agents in all towns across the country last year.
However I wondered why Mr. Katurebe was talking like that about Amin. As I sat with some elders under a mango tree, the question emerged that wasn't he one of the few civilian judicial officials that were part of the prosecution team in the Amin military tribunal? And wasn't he the one recommending to the presiding military judge the maximum penalty against the infamous " wakondo" (The FRONASA/Obote rebels who were going around creating insecurity and wantonly killing civillians)? Why would one hide his own righteous life? Wasn't he right to condemn killers and murderers to capital punishment? The families who lost loved ones to the criminals must have been pleased with such judgements. Or is he fearing that he could today be sitting amongst the ring-leaders of the very criminals that he basically condemned to death decades ago. Life!
Finally I would like to ask you Dr. Besigye, back then as a newly trained competent doctor, when your NRA comrades rounded up innocent Luweero civilians, tied them up using the painful "kandoya three-piece" technique with their elbows touching each other behind their back, and then clobbered their heads using the infamous "kafuni" hoe (as confessed in writing by Samson Mande and your other former NRM colleagues), I wonder how many innocent peasants did you attempt to save with the medical skills you had acquired during the Amin government?
