'Last picture' of Pc Keith Palmer taken just 45 minutes before the Westminster attack happened
What is believed to be the last picture of Pc Keith Palmer, the brave officer who gave up his life to protect Parliament from knifeman Khalid Masood, was reportedly taken a mere 45 minutes before the attack unfolded.
Tourist Staci Martin, from Florida, says she posed for the photo minutes before the knifeman mowed down pedestrians on Westminster Bridge and stabbed a policeman as he attempted to run into Parliament.
Ms Martin was in London visiting her son when she asked the police officer to pose for a picture with her.
She told ABC News: "It's my first time in London and I see his hat and I'm like I have to take a picture of him with his hat.
"I walked up to him and said 'do you mind if I take a picture?' He said 'no problem', he was really nice."
On Thursday, many paid tribute to Pc Keith Palmer and praised his bravery.
James Cleverly MP said Pc Palmer was "a strong, professional public servant and it was a delight to meet him here again only a few months after being elected".
Mr Cleverly, his voice cracking with emotion, asked if Theresa May would recognise the work that he did and other police officers "consider recognising his gallantry and sacrifice formally with a posthumous recognition".
Pc Palmer had worked for the Metropolitan Police for 15 years, having previously served in the armed forces.
A statement from his family spoke of their love for him. It said: "Keith will be remembered as a wonderful dad and husband. A loving son, brother and uncle. A long-time supporter of Charlton FC.
"Dedicated to his job and proud to be a police officer, brave and courageous. A friend to everyone who knew him.
"He will be deeply missed. We love him so much.
"His friends and family are shocked and devastated by his loss and ask that they are left to grieve alone in peace."
"He was someone who left for work today expecting to return home at the end of his shift - and he had every right to expect that would happen," Mr Rowley said.
Online donations have poured in for Pc Palmer on JustGiving, with thousands of pounds already raised to help support his family.
