President Yoweri Museveni has renewed Jenifer Musisi's contract as Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) executive director.
The minister for Kampala, Beti Kamya, revealed this on Monday. According to the minister, Musisi's third term will run from April 2017 to April 2020.
Section 17(2) of the KCCA Act stipulates that the executive director shall be appointed by President on the advice of the public service.
Reacting to the news, Musisi said she was proud to be part of transformation of Kampala City for the last six years.
Speaking to reporters on Monday after commissioning of a 10 class-room block constructed by Indian Women Association in Uganda, she declined to comment on the matter.
The classroom blocks for Kasubi Church of Uganda Primary School cost over sh70m.
The function was held at the school premises in Rubaga Division, Kampala and was attended by different dignitaries including the Indian High Commissioner to Uganda H.E Ravi Shankar.
"I have served my country and will continue serving my country whether in public or private sector," she said.
She added that the public should look back where the city was six years ago and the current situation then acknowledge the level of development.
She blasted a section of politicians around the city who instead of working for the people continue to cause chaos among them.
"We need politics of service not mere words. Some are good at words but less service delivery," she said.
