{UAH} POLICE BRUTALIZE JOURNALISTS, ARRESTS 18 DP K’OGIKWATAKO ACTIVISTS

Kampala central police under the command of her Joseph Gwaidho Bakaleke have intercepted and arrested over 18 members of the Uganda's opposition Democratic Party who were matching to the constitution square to launch a signature collection campaign of their dubbed K'OGYIKWATO aimed at blocking the speculated age limit amendment bill.
Hon Fred Denis Mukasa Mbide the party vice president, Dr. Gerald Siranda lack the acting party secretary general, Dr. Ssempala Mayambala, are among several party members who didn't survivvve the wrath of police amid exchanging verbal hard words.
In the same operation, several journalists were manhandled including arresting and detaining a one Nansubuga Phionaha an act that sparked off the media fraternity patience by exchanging bitter words with police and Bakaleke faced a hard moment to cool down angry journalists though she was later released and accused police for grabbing and steal her phone which she was using for live coverage.
Journalists accused police for deploying non-uniformed officers who with brutality are alleged to having beaten up the 4th estate and smiling Nansubuga also thanked journalists who fought for her release.
Later in a press conference at CPS, Emilian Kayima the Kampala metropolitan mouth piece called upon both the force and the media to behave professionally by not participating in political activities but instead professiona execute their duties.
He also said that unlawful assembly contrary to the public order management act and defying lawful orders are some of the charges they have press against these politicians.
