{UAH} US National Anthem Protests//To knee or not to knee?

Folks;

As flavor of the week, President Trump is feeding his rabid base the raw meat of convoluted patriotism.

He wants owners of professional sports, whose players take the knee or do not stand during the singing of the National Anthem, to be fired. This is not not what American nationalism is about; America has always stood against forced obedience to anyone.

Moreover, the rebellious tone of the Star Spangled Banner, (listen to it, if you haven't) should cause Trump and his ilk to appreciate that US has stood worse threats.

What's emerging in these threats to protesting athletes is the racial overtone: that minority players are anti-America.

In this country, it's legal to set the national Flag on fire, as a form of protest.  The US Supreme Court has upheld so.

Yet, the president finds it easier to go after kneeling players than flag-burning protesters. Why? Because flag burners are mostly whites, while protesting sportsmen are mostly black.
