{UAH} HE IS CONSTITUTIONALLY THE 2ND MOST POWERFUL PERSON IN UGANDA!

He may dress shabbily, he may be a silent vice president, he may sometimes sleep-walk to VIP functions, he may be a man whose email address I can't seem to get from anyone, but he is still constitutionally the second most powerful man in Uganda government.

OK, I hate him for supporting presidential age limit removal, rigging parliamentary elections, being so quiet, being a doormat, standing by when Museveni is running the country down, but to offer a little balance here, and don't hate on me for offering balance: I have been informed that when you meet him face to face, and you learn about all the good things that he does in the communities, you see that while you may indeed vehemently disagree with his sentiment about supporting the dictatorship, he is not a terrible human being. He is a man under great pressure in the public eye and one on one, is quite kind and patient. I am in no way excusing his bad side, but offering a little balance and perspective into who he is as a human being.

OK, everyone says that he can't take over as president if anything happens to chairman Museveni, but how true is this? Hon. Edward Ssekandi reminds me of Daniel Arap Moi when he was Vice president to Kenyatta whose death was a shock to all those around him. Most Africans, unfortunately, look at the powerful men as immortal, and that is why they let them get away with a lot of things. When Kenyatta, the father of the current Kenyan president, died in 1978, Moi was his VP but nobody looked at him as an alternative, just in the same way a lot of people are looking at Ssekand, but Baganda have a saying, 'togaya kyezinze'. Because Moi surprised a lot of people when he became the real statesman nobody saw coming, and yet his government was dominated by Kikuyus(Just like in Uganda where certain ethnic groups have dominated public institutions). At the time of Kenyatta's death, every single government institution was run by Kiambu Mafia and their inner circle. The opposition was weak and being led by the father of the current opposition leader, Jaramong Odinga.

As expected, the powerful people tried to remove Moi from power in 1982 but the coup was unsuccessful. The Kiambu Mafia used frustrated Luo's to try to remove Moi from power.  After the coup, he managed to purge a lot of Kikuyus and Lous from government positions, and replaced them with his tribes mate, the Kalenjins. As they say, the rest is history.

OK, now somebody get me Hon. Ssekandi's damn email address urgently. I don't care what you think I'm needing it for, I just need it……. Thank you. The mobile number I got isnt being answered, and I even don't know if its true.
