{UAH} 200 Million Ugx given to NRM MPs to pass age limit Bill

News has surfaced over government dishing out over 300 million Uganda shillings  among Members of Parliament to rally them to support the parliament legal committee report which approved the controversial constitutional amendment Bill seeking to lift the presidential age limit.

The opposition legislators led by their whip Semujju Nganda /MP Kira municipality allege that,  the tabling of the much anticipated report has been delayed because Members of Parliament particularly from the NRM have been demanding money before its tabled.

Mr Semujju pointed out the government chief whip Ruth Nankabirwa being behind the process of ditching out the monies among the Members of Parliament who support the age Limit Bill.

Semujju said , i have it on good record  that those who sit on the committee of the legal including those that had expressed publicly that they wouldn't support the Bill were each  given 300 Million shillings to append there  signature on the report supporting the removal of the presidential age limit and the rest of NRM MPs who have been caucusing.

The agreement is to give them 200 M or he will allow them  extend their term of office to two years,  its not that they are looking for a term of 7 years, added MP Semujju.

Its a deal they are working on behind tabling this Bill until he has paid that money they will not pass that Bill .

However Ruth Nankabiriwa Sentamu has refuted the allegations from the opposition saying its intended to tarnish the party image.
