{UAH} AN OSTRICH FARM IN UGANDA? GOTTA BE SOMEWHERE IN MY K'MOJA BACKYARD

To say the past few days have not had a mery holiday spirit, would be an understatement in the case Robert Gibbins …

When former German beauty queen Aline Marie Massel, 31, got into a relationship with hedge fund manager Robert Charles Gibbins, 47, she might have had visions of hitting the jackpot. She was promised a life on a Canadian estate and an Ostrich farm in Uganda amid being showered with endless gifts and extravagant vacations, court documents claim. But what she ended up with was far different, a $15 million lawsuit claims.

After two weeks you discover the guy your dating, Robert Gibbins,  has a wife...

When Massel looks in the mirror and reflects on a relationship that has left her with a sexually transmitted disease and a host of broken promises, she might have headed the advice she received a few weeks into the relationship.

This is when she discovered Robert Gibbins had a wife.

"You are not the first and will not be the last," Gibbins' wife said in a text to her husband's then mistress.

But the relationship speed bump didn't deter Massel, who claims Gibbins promised to leave his wife.

A whirlwind two-year relationship ensued. "He promised to buy a large estate for them in Canada called the Royal Antler . . . and an ostrich farm in Uganda," court papers first reported by the New York Post said.

It didn't stop there.

The pair were jetting around the world, watching the World Cup in Brazil, taking a helicopter to a lunch in Italy and enjoying Japanese massages in Manhattan.

The former Miss Germany International had her Manhattan apartment paid for and would regularly be showered with gifts, including trinkets such as a Faberge purse.

Gibbins talked about having four children with her, but then when Massel put this claim to the test it ended in her being "deceived."

When she got pregnant the relationship took a different turn

Robert Gibbins' $5 billion hedge fund, , Autonomy Capital, is having challenges in Puerto Rico, where bondholders may take a loss as the investment has been detracting from otherwise strong performance. He is also in the midst of fighting Venezuela over its debt. In his relationship with Massel, he also had his fair share of battles. Gibbins, for instance, insisted on having sex without a condom – a practice that had two outcomes that would change the relationship.

First is the gift of an STD that left Massel distraught. She "felt deceived and upset with [Gibbins] as he had been her only intimate partner since her last health screening and he did not disclose his sexually transmitted disease to her," the lawsuit claims.

But this didn't change the relationship, as the exotic vacations and royal treatment continued.

It was when the issue of having children together entered the equation that the relationship took a nasty and fatal turn.

After contracting the STD, Massel found herself pregnant – and the real test of Gibbins claims would occur.

Rather embrace plans to have children, raise ostriches in Uganda or live on a Canadian estate, Gibbins showed his cards.

"He would not be there for her in any respect if she chose to keep the baby," he told her, according to the lawsuit. His lawyer offered her money to have an abortion and warned "how difficult it would be to raise a child alone," but Massel persisted.

Legal documents claim Gibbins' wife would get threatening. She is accused of sending a text that was the start of a bitter phase: "Have the baby if you want it so much. I cannot wait to see you getting fat and ugly." She also left an "ominous voicemail" where she told "her young son to 'Speak to daddy's girlfriend.'"

Depressed that her dreams of raising ostriches and children might have been dashed, she returned to Germany alone but found she had unwanted company. She claims to have been followed by a private detective until she finally had an abortion.

Massel grew so depressed that her modeling agency dropped her as a client and she started psychological therapy as a result.

The lawsuit, while telling a tale of a hedge fund manager exaggerating performance claims, also has a more ominous edge.

She mentions Gibbins involvement with a Ukrainian bank that was a "location for money laundering," the suit claims.

Lesson learned: If you can't get an ostrich farm out of a hedge fund manager, settle for $15 million in cash

And for Robert Gibbins be wary of promises to mistresses and Puerto Rico
