-- In what is totally unexpected in hardline muslim country, thousands of Iranian women have decided to rebel against the compulsory wearing of the hijab. I never thought we would see a day when muslim women would stand against male chauvinism, misogyny and oppression. This revolt against the mullah's regime and revulsion of the Islamic republic has taken all of us by surprise. I always thought there is hope for the oppressed muslim peoples.. We are now beginning to see the green shoots of it

Masih Alinejad, an activist for My Stealthy Freedom against forced hijab, calls upon all foreign female visitors to Iran to not wear the headscarf in support of the fight for freedom forwomen in Iran.
