{UAH} 3rd Reshuffle in One Week as Ochola Takes over Police Officially Tomorrow

New police chief Okoth Ochola has yet again made changes in the Police Force with 7 officers attached to Professional Standards Unit (PSU) transferred.

The statement issued by ACP John William Okalany who heads this unit indicates that   Deputy Assistant Superintendent of Police John Odwogo has been transferred from PSU Headquarters in Bukoto to Aswa Region and regional PSU officer.

Further, Deputy ASP Joseph Nambafu has been taken to head Elgon region while deputy ASP David Turyasingura goes to Greater Masaka in the same capacity.

Deputy ASP Fancis Sserwanga and his colleague will now sit at police head offices having been moved from Greater Masaka and Kigezi.

Deputy ASP Gerald Habima becomes regional head for Kira-Jinja after being transferred from PSU headquarters.

On Thursday former IGP Gen Kale Kayihura will handover office officially to his successor Okoth Ochola, who according to sources has began his tour of duty by 'cleaning up the mess' generated by his predecessor.

During his vetting at Parliament of Uganda, Ochola reportedly told MPs that police 'died' the day Gen Katumba Wamala left and Kayihura took over.

In his 13 years of service, Police had been labelled a breeding tool for criminality in the country.

The suggestions were backed by several arrests of senior police officer and other close allies of Gen Kayihura who now face charges of heinous crimes they committed.

Police Spokesperson Emilain Kayima confirmed the embattled General will handle over instruments of power on Thursday.
