Opposition Forum for Democratic change FDC is in the final touches of prosecuting government and various individual former and current police officers for destroying party property and members.
Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters in najjankumbi the secretary general Hon. Nathan Nandala Mafabi said that they are in final stages sueing the former police boss Gen. Edward Kale kayihura, the fallen former police spokesperson Andrew Felix Kaweesi, the head operations in police Asuman Mugenyi and the Attorney General William Byaruhanga for destroying their property including their members on the 19th February 2016 at the party headquarters as they were compiling the election results and hence they want five billions in compensation.
The fateful day police in direct command of late kaweesi and Asuman Mugenyi attacked FDC headquarters and among others destroyed, arrested, detained and took property that include Dr. Kizza Besigye, Joyce Nabossa Ssebugwawo, Ambassador Waswa Birigwa, printing place were 30 printers, 20 computers, a safe with over 200 millions, CCTV cameras and gadgets among others which up to date most of them have never been brought back thus their lawyers and valuers arriving to the total of 5 billions.
'By inflicting pain on our members, traumatizing them physically and psychically, its simply means you have destroyed oue property because they belong to our party" said Nandala
Meanwhile hon. Nandala Mafabi has cautioned the police and the electoral commission not to interfere with the electoral process in the Jinja east by elections which is slated for the 15th this month were hon. Paul Mwiru is holding the FDC ticket while Nathan Igeme Nabeta is holding NRM ticket.
He added that failure by the two bodies to abide by the stipulated electoral laws as FDC they are ready to confront the situation as it unfolds despite the fact that they are law abiding citizens.
