Protests Against Israel's Asylum Seeker Deportations to Occur at Uganda Embassies Around the World
'Force Israel to find a solution for refugees', activists urge Uganda in run-up to embassy protests
Demonstrators are set to protest Monday at Ugandan embassies worldwide to demand that the African nation refuse to cooperate with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's plan to deport tens of thousands of asylum seekers from Israel.

Protests are expected to place at the Ugandan embassies in Israel, the United Kingdom, France, Norway, Sweden, Germany, Argentina, and Greece.
The protests are being organized via social media, mainly on a Facebook page entitled "Uganda Say No."
"People all over the world, no matter our differences, understand that everyone deserves to live in peace and take care of their families without fear," organizers told Haaretz. "A request for asylum is a basic right and the rapid examination of every case is a matter of basic fairness."
"Asylum seekers from Darfur and Eritrea who were deported from Israel to Uganda reported that Uganda is only the beginning of a dangerous trip to find a safe haven," organizers said. "The best way for the Ugandan government to assist asylum seekers from Israel is to refuse to cooperate with Prime Netanyahu's cruel plan.
"If Uganda refuses to cooperate, the deportation plan will be stopped, and the government of Israel will have to implement a plan with the international community that will help the asylum seekers who are in Israel today to find security," they added.
Netanyahu announced a plan with the United Nations High Commisioner for Refugees (UNHCR) last week to but backtracked on it shortly afterwards, leaving asylum seekers in uncertain about their future.
